Should You Have A Network Marketing Blog In 2020?

Should You Have A Network Marketing Blog In 2020?

A network marketing blog should be a staple in every network marketer’s business.

It can take you from being great in your industry, to total rockstar.

We joined network marketing for a great many reasons.

Being highly successful is part of why we join right?

So let’s set up our business in such a way that we see the long term effects for years to come!

I want to cover 3 reasons I believe you MUST have a blog if you want to be successful in this industry.

So let’s get started!

Reason Number 1 For Having A Network Marketing Blog

In today’s day and age, just having a network marketing business does not always equal success.

In fact, 99% of network marketers FAIL within this industry.  99%!!!

With those kinds of odds, it’s incredibly important that we build a business where we stand out from the rest of the crowd.

Everyone is posting their products and services all over social media, hoping to drum up business.

The sad part is that most network marketers think that this is how to do business online.

This couldn’t be further from the truth!

Most network marketers that post their products, service, and business all over social media are finding little to no results.

And every day as social media platforms become smarter and smarter, this will become even more difficult to find results with this strategy.

I’m gonna be honest…  I did find results with this method when I first started in the industry.

But that was 5 years ago, and social media is evolving and changing everyday.

So if social media is evolving, we as marketers need to as well.

Which is the reason I compiled my 5 social media hacks video series around what to do instead of posting your products and praying.

Check it out if you want to know a better way.

But let me get back to my point.

Remember how I said that a majority of network marketers are posting their products and services everywhere on social media?

And I also said that if you want to be successful in network marketing, you have to learn how to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

The first reason you should have a network marketing blog is that you can STAND OUT from the crowd.

Here’s the thing… A majority of network marketers are NOT going to find the value in doing a blog.

They don’t realize that giving away value in the from of a blog around their product, service or business opportunity will create an unstoppable level of attraction to their business.

You stand out from the crowd, because you’ve actually taken the time to educate and help your audience.

People buy products because of an emotional need that they want answered.

Create the value and answer an emotional need with your product, service, or business opportunity.

This WILL cause you to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

So keep that in mind when asking yourself if a network marketing blog is essential for your business.

Which leads me to the second reason I think you need a blog in today’s world.

Reason Number 2 For Having A Network Marketing Blog

The second reason for having a network marketing blog in 2020 is one that is near and dear to my heart.

If you have followed me for any amount of time, you know that I talk about the importance of building your own brand.

I talk about this because I did not do this for the longest time.

And it bit me in the butt!

So I want to prevent you from making the same mistakes in your business.

Creating a blog for your network marketing business can help to actually BRAND YOU, and not your company.

There are three reasons that building your own brand is so much more important than your companies brand.

  1. You do not own your company
  2. You could have a change of heart around your company and decide to leave
  3. Your company goes belly up and you no longer have a paycheck

I don’t want to go in depth into each of these three reasons on this blog, but stay tuned for more info on my site.

I have a feeling I’m going to be writing a blog here soon that focuses on each of these topics!

Having a network marketing blog builds your brand.

By building out your blog, you are telling the world what you want to be known for.

You may have a certain expertise around your product, service, or business.

It’s time to showcase that and build your brand around that subject.

Time to be an expert in your field and share your knowledge with the world.

Does that scare the pants off of you?

I bet it probably does… But remember, we are standing out from the rest of the crowd.

So if the concept of being an expert in a field scares you, it also scares 99% of network marketers as well.

As a result, they won’t step out on a limb and do it.

Which means that there is a wide open space to build your brand and stand out while you’re doing it!

Win Win!

Reason Number 3 For Having A Network Marketing Blog

Creating a blog for your network marketing business is actually a strategy that will serve you for years to come!

Most network marketers are focused on the short game.

But not you!  That’s why you’re here right?

What do I mean that most network marketers are focused on the short game?

The short game is posting products or services on social media and hoping for results.

Let’s talk about the lifespan of a social media post and compare it to the lifespan of a blog post.

When you post to Facebook, the average lifespan of your post is about 2 hours.

2 hours!!! That’s it!

And really, there are a lot of factors that go into that social media post as well.

It could be shorter depending on the content being posted, and how Facebook views it.

The sad thing is that most network marketers will invest time and energy into this 2 hour window.

And what’s sad, is that it rarely pays off the way that they might hope.

Most network marketers will post and pray.

This is not a solid strategy, and will most likely get you in trouble at some point in your business.

I know it will, because I am a product of that strategy.

2 years ago, I realized that I need to level up if I wanted to stay in business.

So that’s what got me researching around writing my own blog.

So what about the lifespan of a blog post?

This gets super cool, and if I talk about it too long, I might get a little nerdy on you.

So I’ll keep it brief!

The lifespan of a blog post is…  FOREVER!

That’s right… Forever!

Yes, you do need to learn some skillsets to make this a reality on your blog.

But once you have mastered this skillset, your brilliance can last as long as your site remains intact.

That is pretty powerful if you ask me.

The other powerful piece of your long term strategy is that you own your website.

You do not own Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.

At any point, any one of these social media sites can go belly up.

If you have been banking all of your business power on a social media site, you will be quite upset if that platform ever decides to close its doors.

And here’s the thing…

That platform may stay open for years to come.

But are you willing to bank your entire business strategy on a short term hope that a social media platform stays open?

I know I would rather focus on a long term strategy that I can control which only your blog can provide.

So which would you rather have?

A quick way to build a business, without any real long term hope.

Or the predictability, stability, and long term strategy that only a blog can provide.

That’s kinda a trick question…

‘Cause the answer should be both!

When you put the short term practices together with the long term practices, you can build a rock solid business for today and forever!
