What’s the difference between network marketing and affiliate marketing and which one should you do in order to create a successful business?

Well, my name is Karin Angelly from KarinAngelly.com. I teach and train network marketers how to build their business in the online space. And today I want to talk about the difference between affiliate marketing and network marketing and what you can do if if you’re not even sure which one you should start with or which one you should do and how you can create leverage with both of them.

So let’s talk about the difference between network marketing and affiliate marketing and which one you should do first.

So I actually have some links in the description below where you can actually kind of check out a little bit more about what it is that I do with my network marketing company, and you can also see how I use affiliate marketing to coincide with what I do. I just wanted to share those things with you before we got any further. 

Okay, so let’s get into what we’re talking about today because I actually really love this topic. And I think that more network marketers and more affiliate marketers need to understand what’s out there for them and how they can actually build a successful business with one or the other or both of these together.

So let’s talk a little bit about it. So first thing I want to talk about what affiliate marketing and network marketing both have. With affiliate marketing and network marketing you basically are recommending either a product or a service that you already love.

You’re literally recommending, a product that somebody else has, and as a result of you recommending that product or service or business or whatever, you actually get a portion of the credit of if somebody buys that product or that service, you actually get a portion a cut off what’s being paid out for that product or service. So it’s a really cool model.

Both models, the affiliate marketing and network marketing models are really cool because you don’t have to sit here and try to figure out your own product to sell. You don’t have to be, a genius and figure out how to create, Some of some of these network marketing products are freaking phenomenal.

You don’t have to have your own lab. You don’t have to be figuring out what’s the best thing for somebody’s body or their skin or weight loss or whatever. Like you can just have a really amazing product and and just recommend it to people. And literally, somebody else has already done the research on it.

And you get to recommend that product to other people. And when they decide that they want to buy that product, you get a cut from the sale. Okay, so it’s the same thing with affiliate marketing as well as network marketing. It’s the same concept now.

The thing with both of these is like I said, you don’t have to sit here and be a genius and try to figure out an amazing product of your own. Now the thing the thing that is kind of not so great about that, is that At the end of the day, you don’t own the product or the service or the business.

Okay? You are literally just referring people to products that you love services that you love. So you’re getting a cut from that. But you don’t actually own the rights to that corporation to that business, Okay,

At any point an affiliate company or a network marketing company can say they don’t like what it is that you’re doing. They don’t like how you’re marketing they don’t like how how you look. They don’t like how whatever it is that you’re doing, they could say at some point, you know what? We don’t want you to affiliate for us anymore or be a network marketing distributor

for us anymore.

They can legitimately cut you off at any point. And when that happens, you now like that stream of income that you’ve built with either affiliate marketing or network marketing is gone completely.

Okay, so that’s something to think about with either affiliate marketing or network marketing is that you don’t fully own the rights to that product service, whatever it is that you’re recommending to people. But at the end of the day, it is still really cool that how many people are making lots and lots of money with either affiliate marketing or network marketing just by referring a product that they love to other people?

All right, so let’s talk about the difference of network marketing versus affiliate marketing. So with network marketing the biggest difference that you’re going to see compared to affiliate marketing. Like I said, you’re sharing a product that you love with both of them.

But the difference between network marketing and affiliate marketing is that with network marketing, you’re actually bringing in other distributors. Other people that love that product as well and want to actually share the product, share what it’s done for them, recommend the product with affiliate marketing.

You’re not really building a team. So the biggest difference is that you can actually leverage network marketing just a little bit more, because you can bring in people that are doing the same thing that you’re doing and actually get a cut off of what they’re doing as well.

With affiliate marketing all of what you do, it’s 100% of what you do, not what other people do. So you’re really focusing on yourself when it comes to affiliate marketing. What I love about network marketing is that the more you pour into other people, the more you help other people, the better you do. okay.

I am, I love that about that like that whole structure of network marketing is that the more you help other people get where they want to go, that ultimately means that you get even closer to where you want to go. 

With affiliate marketing, you are literally doing things on your own. Okay, you’re recommending products and services because you like them, you’re making a cut. But when you bring other people in that want to try the products as well, you don’t get a cut off of what they’re bringing in when they recommend.

Okay, so you see the difference with network marketing. It’ built in such a way that you can make some really substantial money, not just from recommending the products and services, but also bringing in other people that want to recommend the products and services as well.

It’s a really cool model, because what I love about it is that you’re working as a team, Okay? You’re helping other people and in turn, because you’ve helped somebody, now they want to help somebody, and it just kind of trickles down to everybody within the organization.

You just want to help other people. And for me, I’m all about team atmosphere. I’ve actually played loads and loads of sports in my day. If you ever meet me, I’m actually 6 ft two inches tall, so I’m very tall. I played basketball, played volleyball, love the team effort. Okay. And that’s what I really, really love about network marketing versus affiliate marketing.

Because with network marketing, I actually get to create and pour into other people. And the cool thing is as well is that other people will pour into me and help me along my journey as well. With affiliate marketing, you’re more of an island of yourself and you bring to affiliate marketing what you know. 

Okay, you really you really gotta go to other people and connect with them, pick their brains, and then go back to your affiliate marketing company and start recommending, as you were suggested by other people. With network marketing, you have a built in mentorship system that can really be phenomenal. And you have buddies and friends and mentors that can help you along the way. It’s a really cool model.

So that begs the question of should you do both or which one should you do first? Which one? Which one? Can you do both? At the same time? I’m gonna answer all of those questions. So the first question I want to answer is, which one should you do first?

Well, let me ask you this, are you somebody  that loves to work with other people in a team? Are you somebody that loves to connect with with other people? If the answer is yes, network marketing is most likely the place that you want to start with.

If the answer is no, you really like working on your own, maybe you want to think about choosing affiliate marketing first, because affiliate marketing really could be a great place for you to learn the skill sets necessary to recommend a specific product or service. And then, if you decide later down the road that you want to add network marketing into it, go for it. Okay.

Now, can you do both of them at once? So when you are first starting out in either affiliate marketing or network marketing. I

highly, highly recommend that you master one at a time. If you try to do both at once, you are going to confuse yourself. You are going to struggle, and at the end of the day, you’re not gonna get anywhere.

So if you’re looking at starting either affiliate marketing or network marketing first choose one first. Which one suits your personality the most? Which one do you actually love over the other. And start there. 

Okay, once you once, you have a solid base, once you’ve decided okay, maybe you’re going to start with network marketing first, build a solid base with network marketing. Okay. Get your feet under. You understand what it is that you’re doing, how to connect with people in the online space, how to actually grow a network marketing business that duplicates how to actually grow your business.

And then once you’ve created a network marketing business that duplicates now you can actually start thinking to yourself, Is it possible for me to add in affiliate marketing pieces as well? Because to me, I think that’s super important, that as entrepreneurs, we have more than one stream of income. 

But when we’re first starting, it is crucial, my friend like crucial that you start with one and you master it. Because

like I said, if you try to do too many things at once, you’re going to confuse yourself, okay? And start, start slow. Okay? Start slow and figure out the skill sets that you need toe learn either one or the other. Master it. And then once you know that you have mastered it now it’s time that you can actually add on other streams of income for yourself as well.
