So I did a thing yesterday and finally quit my anesthesia job that I have been doing for almost 10 years. I’ve been an entrepreneur for seven, almost eight years and for the whole time that I’ve been an entrepreneur, I have dreamed of walking out of anesthesia and not turning back.
But the feelings that I felt yesterday were actually really, really shocking. Yeah, I was excited but I also felt a little bit sad.
At one point in my life I dreamed of doing anesthesia. I worked really hard to get to a place where I am proficient and really good at my job and because of that yesterday was really, really bittersweet.
It almost felt like a piece of me died when I walked out yesterday. The biggest thing that I’m learning through this is that we have dreams that we want to accomplish in life and sometimes when we achieve those dreams we realize that that’s actually not what we want to do in life and it’s okay to walk away from those things that you thought were your dream and pursue another dream.
