I keep getting questions asking, “Why did I get a copyright claim on YouTube?” I want to hopefully answer this in the easiest way possible.
First of all, if you get a copyright claim, it is not the end of the world. It happens to the best of us.
Your channel will not get shut down and most likely NOTHING will happen to you. However, YouTube does tell us to take care of these copyright claims by editing, disputing, or deleting them.

About Karin Angelly:
Karin Angelly is a wife, dog-mom of two yorkie pups, and by trade does anesthesia. In 2015 she started building her own network marketing company. She experienced explosive growth in her first company and built a 6 figure empire, but then got stuck and frustrated with the strategies and methods she was using to build her business. That’s when she discovered online video marketing and went on to become a video marketing coach and YouTube expert. YouTube copyright claims, especially when it comes to sounds can be really easy to accidentally accrue. And it sounds like in this question, that’s exactly what happened.
Now my best tip for you is if you don’t wanna have a copyright claim, that you actually go to the YouTube library and you get sounds from directly from the YouTube library.
There are other places that you can get sounds as well, but you have to be really, really careful. Even if a sound is not popular, it doesn’t it matter?
You’re looking for either public domain sounds or royalty free. Or of course, just straight from the YouTube library.
That’s always the safest bet. And YouTube tells us to pay attention to those copyright claims, and they specifically tell us to either delete dispute or edit them out.
You can actually go to YouTube help and read a little bit more about it. Follow from more YouTube and video marketing tips.
